I spent two weeks in India last month with our talented engineers - working on a sprint to deliver some outstanding new features and design changes. Sneak peaks of those here soon :)

In a high growth business, it’s always good to step outside the day to day context to get a fresh perspective - and there’s nothing like literally Being Somewhere Else to do that. Diversity in our team also means we get diverse ideas and answers to questions, which is 100% why our software is so robust and our strategies so well tested.

This week our CSO, Marie-Claire, has left her home base of New Zealand to be in Washington D.C. to meet clients and lead the inaugural Association for Women in Events conference there. She too has reported how beneficial it is to be away from what’s ‘normal’ and see the world through fresh eyes. Even though she is complaining about going from summer to winter!

Diversity and inclusion can be a heavy subject that many, quite frankly, stand back from.   But I don’t think it’s that hard to do what’s right in business - perhaps because I’ve had the privilege of living with strong, smart women (one in particular!) and been involved in other cultures through my sports all my life it’s ingrained in me. And, as per my comments above, the business results speak for themselves. Why wouldn’t we want fresh ideas, unusual insights and interesting perspectives?
